1] Modify Play and plug service

The error message clearly shows that Play and plug service is not available on the remote machine. Obviously, you should start the service on first hand and set the status to automatic to make the printer errorless.

  1. Click the Start icon located on the taskbar,
  2. Type – services.msc.
  3. Press the – Enter.
  4. Scroll down and locate – Plug and Play.
  5. Right click on this service and select – Properties.
  6. Next, click the dropdown for – Startup type.
  7. Select – Automatic.
  8. Now, click – Start.

Try to install the printer and check if the error is resolved.

2] Install the printer software in safe mode

Every printer provides an app the helps the machine to run on Windows but when the error occurs there is a chance of conflict between an existing software and printer software. You find Error 0x800f0223; this means anything is obstructing the installation of the printer software on computer. When you boot into safe mode all third party apps and drivers become inactive as the configuration doesn’t allow loading them. 3] Install the printer with compatibility settings

  1. Right click the Setup file and choose – Properties.
