Microsoft released KB4505057 for Windows 10 to fix an issue that prevents accessing some gov.uk websites due to HSTS issue. The patch took the build to 18362.116 and came in Slow and Release Preview rings.
After installing of KB4497936 rolled out on 14 May 2018 many users encountered non accessibility of some of the gov.uk websites. The browsers Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) could not access the sites because of HTTP Strict Transport Security problem. Known issues section of the patch Tuesday discussed the info. KB4505057 Windows 10 18362.116 to Fix HSTS Issue for gov.uk Websites
So Microsoft pushed the update and in order to fix the issues and upgraded the build to 18362.116. According to the announcement in Windows blog this patch contains the following fixes –
“Addresses an issue that may prevent access to some gov.uk websites that don’t support HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) when using Internet Explorer 11 or Microsoft Edge”.
“Addresses an issue in which installation may fail with the error, “0x800f081f – CBS_E_SOURCE_MISSING.”
