Note of Caution for Windows 10 1703 users
Windows 10 version 1703 service came to end in the October of 2018 and no updates might be available to 1703 Home, Pro for Workstation, Pro and IoT Core edition users. These updates will be available only for the Education and Enterprise editions. Hence, it is suggested to update to Windows 10 latest version for better experience.
Main threat fix in this update
KB4480973 introduced a fix for the session isolation security threat which affected remote endpoints of PowerShell. “PowerShell” remoting can work only with an Admin account by default but one could configure the same to work with non-admin accounts. After this update, such working with non-administrative accounts will not be possible. If someone tried using a non-administrator account, Windows will show an error message.
Also, KB4480973 offer some security updates to various essential apps and programs on Windows 10 which includes Windows Linux, Internet Explorer, Windows App Platform and Frameworks. Furthermore, it also includes updates for Microsoft Edge, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Kernel, Windows MSXML, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine etc.
