There are several custom ROM present already such as AOKP build 4, CM 10.1 for Google Nexus 4 (Mako) Smartphone. Keep in mind that your Nexus 4 should be rooted and installed with CWM recovery app previously while you want to install slim Bean ROM.
Do following things before continue Slim Bean install Process
- Download and install LG Nexus 4 USB driver to your computer.
- Prepare a backup of every significant data on Nexus 4 device to SD card.
- Turn on USB Debugging mode on your Nexus 4 device.
Remarks
This Slim Bean Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Custom Rom is only for Nexus 4. Don’t try it on any other similar Nexus device. Besides, start the update process at your personal risk. We will not be answerable for any type of issues if your Nexus 4 becomes dead during the process.
Step-by-Step tips for How to update Slim Bean Custom ROM on LG Nexus 4
Step 1
At first, download both zip file to your computer.

Next, plug the USB cable to your Nexus 4 Smartphone and the computer.
Step 3
Then copy both zip files Android 4.2.2 ROM and Google apps (see in step 1) and paste it to your memory card containing root folder.
Step 4
Now power off your Nexus 4 device and start it to the BOOTLOADER mode. To do so, just make power on your Nexus device another time while you push and hold the volume up, volume down and power buttons at once for a few seconds.
Step 5
Take care to the on-screen instructions and select BOOTLOADER. Next, choose RECOVERY.
Step 6
Inside CWM recovery screen, at first, do the process of cleaning data. Then scroll down to find this option “flash zip from SD card” and push the Power button to select it. Next, push the Power button once more and select “choose zip from sdcard”.
Step 7
At this point, use the volume keys to find the Android 4.2.2 Slim Bean Custom ROM zip from the root folder of memory card (see in step 3) and push the power button to select it. Now a confirmation message prompts on the screen to start the process of custom ROM installation to Nexus 4 devices.
Note – Repeat the same steps to select Google apps zip file from root folder of memory card.
Step 8
As soon as the Slim Bean Custom ROM installation is finished go to “+++++Go Back” option. Then restart your Nexus 4 device by selecting the “reboot system now” option from the recovery screen. Now your Nexus 4 device will reboot and it will take few minutes (around 5 minutes) to start the fresh home screen.
As result, Slim Bean Android 4.2.2 Custom ROM is installed on your Nexus 4 Smartphone successfully.
