Beta Channel of Windows 11 insider has obtained yet another update with a significant new setting to improve the appearance of search box on taskbar. KB5023008 is the cumulative update that brings the builds which also have several bug fixes. This has increased the version to Windows 11 Build 22623.1250 (new features enabled) and 22621.1250 (disabled).

Search on the Taskbar
- KB5023008 LCU added a new setting and policy for IT administrators to manage how the search box on the taskbar appears. Navigate to know more.

Task Manager
- After this update, typing F in the search box should work.
- Windows 11 build 22623.1250 fixed Narrator that wasn’t reading out some of the text in dialogs.
- In KB5023008 CU, dragging the window using the search box area should function other areas of the title bar.
- Searching and then pressing the down arrow will move the keyboard focus from the search box into the results.
- Experts in the Beta team fixed an issue where ending processes in the Details tab wasn’t displaying a confirmation dialog.
- They fixed Increasing text scaling resulting in a see more button appearing without contents.
- The experts fixed an issue where focus might not get set properly to search, leading to Narrator not saying that focus was on the search box.
- Now onwards, when you have a contrast theme enabled and select one of the rows in the Processes page, that row should show that it’s selected.
Search on the Taskbar
- The rollout fixed the search box that would randomly disappear sometimes when clicking it (leaving a blank space on the taskbar).
- Furthermore, the Beta channel team fixed an issue where the search box was shifting to the side slightly when you clicked it.
- Now onwards, the taskbar should no longer unexpectedly hide when you set taskbar to auto-hide, press the Windows key, and start typing.
