As you may recall, Microsoft made the decision to abandon the concept of frequent major Windows releases and return to a three-year release schedule. Consequently, the much-anticipated Windows 11 version 23H2 was shelved as a significant release. However, it appears that the Redmond company has revived the OS with a different approach this time around. Instead of a major release, Windows 11 23H2 will appear as a small update. However, Windows 11 is going to get a Cumulative update KB5026443 which will increase the version to 22631.1830.
Renowned Windows enthusiast @PhantomOfEarth has recently uncovered a fresh series of builds within the Windows ecosystem. As per reports, Moment 4 update will upgrade Windows 11 222H2 to Windows 11 23H2. While this update is anticipated to introduce a range of new visual changes and features, Microsoft is likely to deploy it as a straightforward cumulative update. As a result, users won’t need to go through the process of reinstalling the operating system, unlike the yearly feature updates.
Following the third release, the specific updates slated for 2024 are hidden. However, it has been confirmed that Redmond intends to launch a fresh iteration of its operating system, potentially with or without the moniker Windows 12, in the latter half of the year.
Anticipated to bring notable visual enhancements to the desktop interface, Windows 12 is set to introduce a floating Taskbar and a top bar that will accommodate the user profile information, System Tray, and Windows Search. Furthermore, Microsoft is actively developing Windows 12 as a modular operating system, aiming to deliver faster updates, enhance security, and facilitate the integration of additional AI features.
